A day off work with parades and football and food and family… I mean really, what is not to be thankful for; it doesn’t get much better than this. Have a great Thanksgiving celebration and enjoy the day.
There is always something to be thankful for. It can be hard to remember that sometimes, what with life being the way life is. I am thankful for what I am and for what I have. I may not deserve all that I have and I may have lucked into much of my good fortune, but I recognize that I do have more than my fair share of happiness and prosperity. I’m thankful for family and friends and for my home and my work. I’m thankful that I’ve got the skills and support that I have, and that I’ve had the opportunities to work at creating these things. Life isn’t perfect. Life isn’t supposed to be easy. Life is hard and brutal. Mostly it is just about making it through and making the most out of the opportunities that come your way. I’m thankful that I have been given the chance to take part in this struggle, to survive these hardships, and to win the day on those rare occasions when I do. Mostly, I’m thankful that I’ve learned enough about life to recognize how good I have it. I hope you have a great holiday. Take the time to think about what you’re grateful for, it might just surprise you to realize how much you really have.
