I was doing some unnoticeable work on my YouTube channel the other day and while watching the credit scroll on a couple of videos I started thinking about some of those production credits and their associated logos, or lack thereof.
It’s rather ridiculous that I’ve done this, and some might call it presumptuous and unnecessary, maybe even egotistical and self-important. But, I look at it as a design opportunity and a chance to stretch my artistic legs. As with so many of these projects, I do them because I enjoy doing them. So I made some new logos and decided on what use they might have.
There’s a lot of white space around these because I designed them at 1920 x 1080 so they would look good in video production. The backgrounds are transparent because, well, you never know what I might want to put back there.
The home studio is where all the filming and recording goes on; things like arohenTV, non-Truckcast podcasting, and audiobook recording.
Blackmoon is name that has been with me for a long time. Originally tied to roleplaying it evolved to represent roleplaying products I wanted to make and now it is the creative, “blank page” side of my ideas. Stuff like my Baenrahl website, any art, or writing I put out will be branded with this one.
274 is the newer version of the old Blackmoon idea. I’m not sure exactly what the demarcate will be between the two. Hell, who am I kidding, I don’t really know how or if I’ll be using any of these things.
The idea behind and logo for Rampant Lion is a newer creation. I actually came up with it while designing the signage/lettering for the office door. I haven’t done anything with it yet, but it could very well be the banner under which everything else resides.
I’m pretty happy with the arohenTV logo, so I didn’t change it or make a new one. But I did whip this up for arohen.com. I brought the background letters up more and gave them more emphasis, tweaked the design and spacing, and sharpened up everything else.
It kept me busy for a couple nights and I had fun, so that’s a win-win. Now I just need to find the time to get back to creating my one man media empire. Let me know what you think in the comments.
