The time has come to see what has been written, to determine what can be used and what must be cut. I have printed out the 2014 NaNoWriMo project and my intention is to read it, give it an edit, and then continue it to a proper conclusion.
I decided that this was something I had to do. I’ve been getting back into the table top roleplaying hobby, and just like before, it ends up being a lot of wasted time building worlds that know one will ever see. And just like last time, I’ve come to the conclusion that if I’m going to be outlaying this much creative juice on anything… probably it should be my writing.
So, while I’m not stepping away from the table with the finality that I did last time, I’m also not going to allow myself to wander aimlessly down those roads. I will game and run games because I enjoy that sort of thing, but I will direct my world building and map drawing into my fiction.
Anyway, here’s what a months worth of writing looks like. 52,000 words spread over 189 pages.
Time to see what’s actually on those pages.
