Renting, Packing, & Waiting

It’s done. It’s gone. It’s all moving along now.

We closed on the condo on Friday, August 6th. Now we’re renting the place that we used to own. Almost all of the packing is done and I’ve started ripping out the carpet…. Ok, I’ll put it here so that I don’t have to go over it again.

We gave the woman who bought the condo a $1000 carpet allowance. The realtor told her that pulling the old carpet out would add $400 to the cost of her new carpet, but we told her that we would pull up the carpet if she wanted. She did. So now I’m taking out all the carpet above the basement. It’s dirty work, but not that hard. Enough said.

Now where was I? Ah yes, the piles of boxes stuffed with our life are gathering in the unused corners of the house. Nearly everything that can be packed has been. I reserved the U-haul truck for this Friday. The utilities have all been arranged. All that remains is to cut a cashiers check and sign a small hillock of paperwork. That’ll all happen on Friday and I can’t wait.

Let the move begin.
